Nokia designed their ReefShark 5G SoC chipset with significant FPGA component and used Intel as their supplier. Intel couldn't deliver what they promised. It was complete disaster.
They had to redesign ReefShark and cancel dividends. It was a huge setback.
- noki_throway 6y agoThis is utter bullshit. Nokia f*cked up because they over-engineered their FPGA solution for 5G. They took largest FPGA in the market and couldn't squeeze their design in it. It was not Nokia SoC just plain Stratix10. They moved to own SoC after that glorious project.
