Is there much of a downside to just disabling all hover events in the browser? I've also considered disabling the clipboard API after hearing about clipboard hijacking attacks recently

Some websites provide useful information on hover, including Twitter. Reading the bio of someone without leaving the page is convenient.

  Perhaps an even better example is Wikipedia's article previews - enormously helpful when reading through a long or technical section.
