Anecdata: I taught a class on product management at my alma mater last year and thought it would be nice to bring my students snacks (cookies, fruit snacks, occasional grocery store baked goods, etc.). Sure as hell, I (first time teacher) got the highest average rating across the department. Definitely lots of confounding variables (for example, I was doing it for fun for a semester rather than for a career), but definitely something to be said for bribery...
