Michigan is great in a lot of ways, depending on your interests.
- smokelegend 6y agoDo you have bears there?
- up_and_up 6y agoYes, black bears in the northern Lower peninsula and the Upper peninsula. Also likely cougars, but the DNR wont admit it.
- hentrep 6y agoThe DNR has actually changed tune on this recently: https://www.clickondetroit.com/news/michigan/2020/08/12/michigan-dnr-6-confirmed-cougar-sightings-in-2020/ https://www.clickondetroit.com/news/michigan/2020/08/12/mich...
- a2tech 6y agoNo bears in the Ann Arbor area sadly. You have to go a bit north to get bears. But those areas are easily reached via car. My parents for example live 3 hours away (220-ish miles) and they get a couple of bears a year bumming around.
- seanyesmunt 6y agoYes, but I've lived here for 20 years and have never run into one while camping/canoeing. They are more active (but still sparse) in the Upper Peninsula.
- selimthegrim 6y agoIs Zingerman's really that good?
- up_and_up 6y agoSo Zingermanns has several restaurants. The Deli is overrated IMO, but the Roadhouse, Roadshow, and Miss Kim's are really great.
