Who is working in a team worth acquihiring and then plans on being on unemployment benefits or has trouble finding a new job ? And I can't remember the last time someone asked about referrals ...
- warent 6y agoAnecdotally I have 5 years professional experience and every time I'm looking for work people have always asked for at least 1 referral
- wpietri 6y agoI've always been asked, too. And I'll ask as well.
- marcinzm 6y agoSame but they didn't care if it was my last job or previous jobs. So as long as you don't burn bridges at every job it doesn't much matter.

- marcinzm 6y agoIt still works as long as people you knew have moved on from your last job. Just ask them for a reference. There's always edge cases but I'd argue the vast majority of people in tech aren't impacted by them.
