Now I have a good excuse for all the spicy food I eat :) But seriously, sample size seems small, only ~1200 across chill eaters and non-eaters. Effect size seems pretty small too from the graphs at the end of the article. Given the current reputation of nutrition science I suspect the result is just noise.
