Really? I was under the impression that we have largely moved on because of better medicine.
My doc explained that Lithium has some pretty serious long term problems for many patients while for instance if you can tolerate the titration Lamotrigine has very few side effects. Was also told Lamotrigine was more effective at least for my needs.
- rozab 6y agoThe 'better medicine' we have nowadays is less toxic but barely more effective than placebo (I would argue they ARE just placebo, with trials being invalidated by broken blinds).
- dillondoyle 6y agoIt has been a game changer for me. Maybe placebo but it's been a long time and truly very very big difference
