Indeed. I wasn't aware of that specific git option, but a build pipeline with a checkout step taking FORTY MINUTES is unacceptable. Plenty of ways to solve that problem, but it's a problem that never should have made it into a critical workflow. I don't care for casting stones. It's clearly a big win, and you don't get numbers like that every day. But I feel like someone should've twigged to this much sooner.
