Ask HN: Good places for programming language design discussions?
As per title.
Looking for places to get feedback and critique on some language design thoughts.
Not looking to take over the world with a new super-language, but not doing a toy language either.
I want to see if others have the same pain points with an existing language as I do and discuss some ways to solve them.
Thanks!
- EdwardCoffin 6y agohttp://lambda-the-ultimate.org/ http://lambda-the-ultimate.org/ perhaps. It seems less active than years ago, but there is still discussion going on there.
- huhtenberg 6y agoI had it on my list, but I wasn't sure if it'd be appropriate to barge in with suggestions on how to make certain language a bit more readable and pleasant to work with. LtU looks more about the higher-level theory and less about pedestrian usability issues, no?
- EdwardCoffin 6y agoI’d lurk and read old discussions for a while before posting for sure. I think that though they do lean heavily towards the theoretical side, they do discuss pragmatic aspects as well. I’ve only ever lurked there though, and haven’t even done that in the past few years. Things may have changed beyond just the decrease in traffic that I have noticed.
