Although I've recently moved my library in to Plex, which handles sync between devices (you can set the app to copy some/all files to your phone storage). In addition to the Plex app, they also have Plexamp for a music-focused UX. It's very nice if you're willing to put in a little setup effort. And since you run the server, you know it will never be shut down on you.
