How about just having a finite amount of time in which to read the news?
I'd prefer to focus on attention on filtered comments rather than waste time skimming hundreds of comments.
- Terretta 15y agoFocus on "filtered" comments is a completely different discussion, and offering users an unnumbered slider to set personal threshold for where the grey vs black text divider falls on a percentile line between top and bottom scored remarks of the given thread, would accomplish 90% of what the TL;DR crowd want w/o all the problems of showing scores.
- RuadhanMc 15y agoIt's not really a different discussions if you viewed scored comments as filtered comments.
