Ask HN: A Sci-Hub alternative for Medium Posts?
Hey Hackers. I was curious if anyone would find useful a Sci-hub version for Medium Posts.
Sci-hub is striving to provide free access to millions of research papers and books, and Medium has become a repository of knowledge sharing about design, code, well-being and more but is strictly secured.
Now with the paywall we are unable to read anything, and we are forced to pay.
Curious to hear your thoughts.
- Nextgrid 6y agoThe Medium paywall relies on existing cookies to limit the amount of articles you can read in one session. Clearing your cookies or using private browsing defeats it.
- konsalexee 6y agoI use Brave and I do that. The most confusing part for me is that I am unable to "clap" or bookmark the articles inside medium when I use incognito, in order to revisit them in a future time. Bookmarking them in Raindrop is the current solution for me, but still I feel that there is a lot of friction going on.
