Show HN: See how your domain typos are being (ab)used
- ampleweaver 6y agoTypo domains is a side project after years of exploring how domain typos are used across various other projects. Feedback very much appreciated.
- ampleweaver 6y agoThanks for breaking the API so fast. Hot fixing now.
- ampleweaver 6y agoAnd...we're back.
- talonbragg 6y agoAh... A New way to scam bait :)
- elliottinvent 6y agoCongrats, this is a good idea and well designed. I think users need a taste of the product before they're going to part with $199. For my example search, I have: - 17 high risk domains - 7 medium risk domains - 16 low risk domains To show the power of the product, why not show one domain from each category? I think calling it "TypoDomains" might be selling yourself short, I would name it something that indicates brand protection.
- ampleweaver 6y agoThanks for the feedback! Would you want to just see one domain in that category for an example, or 1 domain, with all its data in that category (the latter is a bit harder, because it's a fair bit of data.
- elliottinvent 6y agoIt's hard to answer that question without seeing the data. My main concern is that I want to make sure these domains which the service claims are important to protect, are actually important to protect and perhaps some reason why. Very basic example: example.com -> high risk domain: examplw.com (w next to e on keyboard)
- ampleweaver 6y agoYeah I put tool tips in as many places as I could think of it, but that's a good idea. Thanks! Much appreciated. DM me on Twitter if you like @typodomain and I'd be happy to give you a free report for the feedback.
