Can somebody explain to me the limits of geothermal exploitation? It seems to be a limited resource to me. Even more limited than fossil fuels. Those will replenish in a few million years. But heat from the earth’s core will be gone till the end of time. No? Let alone effects on earthquakes or changing the magnetic field and these kind of things.
- garyclarke27 6y agoThere is probably a natural nuclear reactor in the Earth’s core. Think when the earth was formed, heaviest elements like Uranium would naturally concentrate at the core. Therefore Geothermal is potentially an unlimited resource, at least until the reactor runs out of fuel, but I would guess thats millions if not billions of years away.
