  "Auto-update option for major releases" This is the big feature with this release and I suspect it's just a matter of time before auto updates for releases is enabled by default. It will certainly break sites, especially legacy ones, which is why it needs to be optional right now until we figure out how to better run legacy WP sites that don't break due to incompatible versions of WP, themes and plugins.
