- jfengel 6y agoIt doesn't really matter. Paywalls are ineffective anyway. The information leaks out. It's readily available. Any news article is plagiariazed ad infinitum all over the Internet. The problem is that nobody wants it. Propaganda isn't just cheap. It's also entertaining. Reality is boring and unpleasant. If you want to know the reality about climate change, for example, it's not at all difficult to lay your hands on, for free. But it's also depressing, and when presented with an equally free opportunity to hear that it's all a conspiracy of scientists, the problem isn't that you can't go to NASA or the IPCC or Richard Muller's web site, or the many copies of that paywalled article. The problem is that you don't want to go.
