Is this not also a function of being at least a /good/_ build system? If Cargo were too basic, or too hard to use, there would definitely be people creating a better one. This then causes the fragmentation you are talking about.
- steveklabnik 6y agoYes, this matters too. I've been bumping into some tough limitations of Cargo lately, but it's still good enough to stick with it, and paper over them, rather than throw the whole thing out wholesale.
