You make a compelling point about health insurance being independent of employment status. In America it is mostly the opposite - health insurance is provided as a condition of employment - so that those who suffer unemployment experience a cruel double whammy of losing their ability to care for their families health just when they need it most.
- phobosanomaly 6y agoAnd those with an entrepreneurial spirit, but also a family, have a massive barrier to putting their ideas into action. How many great companies died in the womb because someone just couldn't risk losing their health insurance.
