- gojomo 18y agoAt the original site, it is a strange headline ("Founder of blog platform gets venture funding") given the profile focus of the article. I think they gave it a newsier headline to put it on p. 1 of the Business section. The funding they're referring to happened a while ago and is mentioned in paragraph 11: In 2006, Polaris, along with Blacksmith Capital and Radar Partners, invested $1.1 million in Automattic. In January, a second round of financing came through: Polaris, Radar, True Ventures and the New York Times Co. contributed $29.5 million to Mullenweg's company.
