Were there any phones based on WinCE before the iPhone? I liked the Pocket PC UI, it just needed a capacitive screen.

The phones were good enough that I failed to see the big deal about the iPhone. Other than the web browser, yawn. 2G Edge-only when my HTC 8125 had been using 3G for, I dunno, ever? Then the iPhone 3G was released, and IMO that’s when iOS showed how wart-filled WinMo had become.
