I’ve always thought that the Alphabet company that acquired Google was just a front and the name was a nod at the alphabet agencies.
- lallysingh 6y agoIt didn't acquire Google. The other irrelevant divisions (e.g., waymo) from Google got pulled up a level as peers under alphabet. The actual people in charge didn't change one bit.
- alexfromapex 6y agoWhat you're saying is just semantics. On paper, the financials were changed significantly and the reorg compartmentalizes risk in a favorable way. Why would the people in charge need to be changed, based on what I said? I guess I hit a nerve with all of the downvotes, and I don't think anything I've said is very controversial, so that's puzzling.
- lallysingh 6y ago>the Alphabet company that acquired Google was just a front I'm saying that it was an internal re-org, not an acquisition from an external organization (or cabal of 3-letter-agencies).
- ryder9 6y agolol what is this dumb conspiracy theory
- yuhong 6y agoThis Keyhole acquisition dates from just after Google IPOed in 2004.
