Microsoft makes it difficult to download Microsoft Edge with Firefox and Chrome
- PaulHoule 6y agoThe one thing "constant" about Microsoft is that when they try to force you to use OneDrive, Skype, Edge, Windows Store, whatever, they annoy people enough that they reject it and MS eventually gives up.
- mtgx 6y agoSimilarly, one of the more "evil" things Microsoft has done in recent years is stop automatic updates for Windows 7 sometime in 2017-2018 and force people to manually get the updates from the "browser" - where the browser actually meant the default IE8 and they kept pretending they weren't aware the downloads don't work in Chrome/Firefox. Mind you this was way before the "official expiration" of Windows 7 updates in 2020. That was a big FU to their Windows 7 users throwing them under the exploitation bus just to force people to move to Windows 10 already.
