Show HN: MetricPlease – Bookmarklet that turns 100 yards into 91.4 m
- rufname 6y agoThis little bookmarklet helps with reading webpages that use "inches", "feet", "yards" and "miles" for people (like me) used to the metric system. (It can also handle in. ft. yd. mi.)
- kristianp 6y agoGreat idea, it's so annoying that even science sites don't use metric, for example a recent article about room temperature superconductors: https://www.quantamagazine.org/physicists-discover-first-room-temperature-superconductor-20201014/ https://www.quantamagazine.org/physicists-discover-first-roo... https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=24777268 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=24777268
- rufname 6y agoThose sites will be good test cases for the bookmarklet. And I see I have to add Fahrenheit for the next release.
