Then set yourself a calendar reminder for the second Tuesday of each month and do a manual update and restart on that day. That should get you past most of the forced update reboots, because it’s usually “patch Tuesday” updates that force reboots. Not saying this is a good thing or excuse for the behavior. It’s just how you can get past the particular issue.
