Ask HN: What are the biggest barriers you’ve faced building a remote team?
For folks who’ve founded, managed, or grown a remote team, what were some of the major challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Some examples that come to mind: international employment, timezones, communication, etc.
- chovy 6y agotimezones. I am PST and most are overseas. We meet at 10am PST which is like 7pm or 8pm for them.
- caryd 6y agoGetting meaningful status updates. There are plenty of good communicators and plenty of good developers, but that mix of both is rare and even rarer are they both when you first hire them.
