Uber is culpable for designing the job such that the risk of accidents significantly increased.
- koolba 6y agoExcept she wasn’t doing that either. She was watching Netflix on her phone.
- asdff 6y agoUber should have just put two people in the car and taken their phones for the duration of the shift. Totally foreseeable in hindsight which is awful considering someone died.
- indrax 6y agoMost companies don't hire a second supervisor to watch their drivers. I don't think that's a reasonable standard for criminal negligence. I do think civil liability is appropriate, and uber Settled for $9.7 Million.
