Is there a prevailing theory for why these second waves match the first wave in case count, but with almost none of the deaths?
- Barrin92 6y agothe only one that seems plausible is that we missed, put plainly, a metric fuckton of cases in spring
- saganus 6y agoI have no supporting evidence, but I'd like to think it's due to a better understanding of how to treat sick people.

- barumi 6y agoI would add that up to March we still had public officials repeating China's claims that covid19 was not easily transmissible.
- lucian1900 6y agoThat was never claimed by Chinese medics, merely that at the time they had not observed it to be transmissible. This is relevant since SARS wasn’t transmissible, so it’s an aspect that has to be determined scientifically for each virus.
