There's a lot of wisdom in this article. Some things that really needed to be said. But the perspective from which it's written isn't typical of those he means to advise, I think.
He talks about "building meaningful businesses that are both fun and economically rewarding". But the great majority of services businesses are not fun and not that profitable.
And those I know with "product envy" aren't generally motivated by "crazy valuations" and acquisitions. Rather, we have a burning desire to make our own mark and the best of our potential. Pouring our creativity into another person's vision is rewarding to a limited degree.
