In my experience with HashiCorp products, things don't work like the page says (Vault) while other's are sometimes half-finished (Terraform will let you create, but not destroy resources). Edit: To clarify, I ran into some cases where the creation code for a resource existed, but not the destroy code.
I might wait on this and read the Github issues for a few months before trying it
- aratno 6y agoTerraform does let you destroy resources: https://www.terraform.io/docs/commands/destroy.html https://www.terraform.io/docs/commands/destroy.html
- sushicalculus 6y agoYes, I know. I meant for some resources (the code for creating was added, but not for destroying those resources). I had to write a custom provider to temporarily fix it
- kawsper 6y agoI wish Terraform still allowed destroy-time provisioners to access variables, it seems that it went away due to some refactoring, and it isn't coming back. https://github.com/hashicorp/terraform/issues/23679 https://github.com/hashicorp/terraform/issues/23679
- outime 6y agoI have been using Terraform since 0.11 and it's always allowed to destroy resources, what do you mean?
