Show HN: Intelligent in-app ratings (iOS/Android SDK)
- sgallese 6y agoHi HN, I'm Seb, a mobile SDK developer for Promptimizer. When adding in-app ratings to my apps, I always coded the same thing: 1. Think of a place in the app where the user might be happy 2. Hardcode an in-app rating prompt 3. Never think about it again I wanted to build a smart rating solution that: - Constantly tests different locations in the app to find our happiest users - Produces a steady stream of 5-star ratings instead of spikes of ratings and then no ratings - Doesn't annoy users - Works with a few lines of code The SDK is currently closed source but we want to make it open source soon. Feel free to ask questions or request the SDK at https://get.asogiraffe.com/promptimizer https://get.asogiraffe.com/promptimizer
- huhtenberg 6y agoTo be blunt, this seems completely trivial and not worthy adding an external dependency for. Leave alone a recurrent fee, which I suspect you might be planning.
- sgallese 6y agoI hear you. I've typically rolled my own implementation for each project and am always suspect of adding another dependency. After doing this enough times though, felt like a smarter solution should exist. I believe the value comes from the experimentation and optimization layer- constantly finding the best place to ask for a rating. But the honest feedback is exactly what I'm looking for. Is there a non-trivial rating feature you'd find worthwhile?
- huhtenberg 6y agoNone I can think of. What you have is a massively over-engineered and fragile solution for a trivial problem.
