This is an incredibly low-information perspective that's got to go. China is an authoritarian single-party state where citizens have no liberty, no justice, no recourse. It couldn't be more different to the US.
The ongoing demoralization of the US like this is outright sister.
- whoevercares 6y ago> where citizens have no liberty, no justice, no recourse Disagree if you mean in general sense. You need to define it in far more details. I guess you mean “when their interest conflicts with the government”. Ask common Chinese citizens who live a non-activist life if they agreed that they are slaves and don’t have any of those rights
- hobofan 6y agoThe two-party (with not a huge amount of difference between them) system of the US, with a sitting president that is toying with the idea of staying president for life doesn't really paint a picture of "couldn't be more different" for an outsider.
- LargoLasskhyfv 6y agoWhile I have no real clue about China, never been there, I don't believe that because: [1] https://duckduckgo.com/?q=china+highway+built+around+house&t=ffsb&iar=images&iax=images&ia=images https://duckduckgo.com/?q=china+highway+built+around+house&t... and many more cases like [2] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holdout_(real_estate)#Nail_house https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holdout_(real_estate)#Nail_hou... How is that possible at all with no liberty, no justice, no recourse ?
