I hope Heroku's pricing comes more in line with offerings like DigitalOcean. The difference between the $5 and $50 Heroku instances is negligible compared to almost any VM provider. Dokku provides a nice, open-source Heroku-like experience. I've had a good experience so far using Dokku on DigitalOcean or Hetzner VMs. http://dokku.viewdocs.io/dokku/ http://dokku.viewdocs.io/dokku/
