One idea I really liked from the previous discussion on this was to hide the Names of all comments for a few hours.
This way comments really can be voted on their merits rather than the fan club of the commenter.
- jamesbkel 16y agoThis could become very confusing on new comments with several layers of response/conversation going on. That said, I like the spirit of the idea.
- ary 16y agoPerhaps the names on a particular thread in the discussion could be revealed once you vote or comment on that thread?
- mitjak 16y agoI'm going to vote against this: I personally never look at names anyway. Eyes jump between comments themselves, and only if a person is marked as a friend do I lift my eyes up in a "oh yeah, it's you again" tilt.
- Andrew_Quentin 16y agoIf you never look at the names, what does it bother you if the names are or are not shown?
- mitjak 16y agoBecause it's nice to be able to quickly find out what the name is once I do.
