In Europe we put mentally ill people in institutions, so they get the care they need. What else would you do? Throw them on the streets? We're not a 3rd world country.
- scruple 6y agoWell, the difference in perspective is that the mentally ill in this country have rights that forbid them from being forcibly locked up (under most conditions). I don't know who has the better approach. All that I know that our (US) approach isn't working for most of the population that is homeless and mentally ill.
