It basically boils down to a few relatively minor camera features perhaps except for the addition of a 2x camera (The other differences are Lidar sensor, 60fps HDR recording at vs 30fps, and saving in RAW).
It looks like they think that just creating the impression that the pro model is better is enough to get more money from people who are less price sensitive.
- epaga 6y agoIt's a 4x optical zoom (or 5x in the Max), opposed to NO optical zoom at all in the non-pro version.
- fomine3 6y agoIt seems that now iPhone 12 uses same housing design as 12 Pro. I think Pro is almost only for camera upgrade (including LIDAR).
- Terretta 6y agoThose are, to be fair, pro photography and video features, that likely make a real difference only to pros and so-called prosumers.
- fomine3 6y agoYes but previous iPhone "Pro" isn't just only for prosumers; It had OLED and different housing. Now Apple possibly switched Pro-line strategy as same as iPad and Mac.
- ihuman 6y agoThe Pro is made from stainless steel, and the regular is made from aluminum.
- fomine3 6y agoThanks for pointing out. Personally I prefer aluminum than stainless for lightweight.
- jack2222 6y agoGiven they both have the A14 chip and seemingly no other differences in their innards, the fact the pro can do 60fps Dolby digital vs the regular phones 30fps feels like a lame software lock?
- ksec 6y agoPro has 50% more RAM ( 6GB )
