Siri lives in on your wrist, in your pocket, or even in your ears with AirPods. It's a pretty significant difference. When you can access Siri anywhere, you only need to put speakers out where you want music.
Google and Amazon need to work harder to get presence so they push them out using aggressive pricing.
- mmastrac 6y agoI have the same options with the Google assistant/Chromecast etc. That doesn't answer the question of what the homepod line's market share is.
- ogre_codes 6y ago"Speaker" market share is irrelevant when 30-50% of iPhone owners have speakers in their ear or on their wrist.
- mmastrac 6y agoYou appear to be intentionally obfuscating for whatever reason. I found something from 2019 that appears to show Apple in a distant third place, with Amazon as #1 in the USA and some supporting research showing similar trends world-wide. [1][2] So yeah, as I expected it's Amazon's game, Google trailing but a strong presence, and Apple virtually missing from the race. - mullingitover 6y agoIt's true, I have so many places that I can set timers. Beyond that piece of functionality, Siri is still a very developmentally disabled assistant and has never proven useful in my experience.
