Controversial... How about Oncology? It appears to be making a big difference there. Plus there was AlphaGo, which was thought to be impossible, up until the very moment it actually worked, right?
- AstralStorm 6y agoNot yet it isn't. Nobody trusts it enough to not require a trained oncologist to look at the samples. Not to mention the machines or software are unavailable for end user doctors. It's in research.

Also no. After the AI winter people were more conservative about when computers would be able to compete in Go, and people generally thought it was five more years away or so. But nobody believed playing go was impossible or even out of reach, why would anyone have thought that
