OT: Why are medium.com URLs getting special subdirectory handling for usernames in the trailing HN title parentheses?

- ebg13 6y agoHN has done some variant of this for a long time now with subdomains, but often you had to send an email to request sites with personal subdomains to be added to the list if they weren't already. It's because your rando personal blog is _not_ medium. It's just _on_ medium. Your rando personal github repository is _not_ github. It's just _on_ github.
