I'm starting to think that out of all the social platforms, Facebook understands that people in different parts of the world have different cultures. Co existence and tolerance is what's needed rather than explusion and intolerance. Since we as individuals are embedded within our own cultures it's hard to empathise with how other people elsewhere think across cultures. Usually social media is about one view of the world made in its creators image. A truly global social media is the aim.
