Really the best thing to do would be to cut the horizontal piece with an angle grinder to give an air gap close to the furnace. The fence owner may not like that idea though.
- loa_in_ 6y agoAnd it wouldn't have to be a literal air gap, some kind of glue or foam would help preserve the aesthetics of the fence
