Ask HN: Any open source alternative to Microsoft Teams?
I have to deal daily with Microsoft Teams, and it's the slowest software on my PC. I'm running it on Linux (unofficial client, [0]) because the original client is far worse.
Am I the only one that feels the necessity of replacing this software with an open source alternative that is not ss bloated as the software provided by Microsoft?
Is somebody working on the side to create an alternative client? I would love to contribute.

- gostsamo 6y agoAre you looking for Teams alternatives or for Team client alternatives (same service, but different app to access it)?
- denysvitali 6y agoSorry, I wasn't clear enough: I'm looking for a Teams client alternative. If it was up to me to decide, I would have switched to another software a long time ago :)
- gostsamo 6y agoCan't help you there. However, an advice: post your stuff according to the US time zone. Most people here are based there and if posted around midnight their time, you loose big part of the visibility.
