Can you imagine what would happen if BE languages had to deal with this problem? Want to pull in 30MB `numpy`? Too bad, find something smaller. Understanding this problem illuminates why there are so many one-liner npm modules instead of monolithic utility libraries. Other than embedded developers, who else has to deal with code size?
