I like the visuals in his videos, but I agree that he presents things as though he's discovered, and is now showing you, a trivial new path to deep insights. Then, when he discusses a topic I already know something about, it seems like he's going through a convoluted path and it could've been said a lot more simply.
- Smithalicious 6y agoHe has very geometric intuitions to everything which makes him somewhat hard to follow for me as well. Math is much, much easier for me to understand symbolically/algebraically
- threatofrain 6y agoIt makes sense for him to emphasize his visual approach because that's almost every education program's weakness. Quality animation is very expensive.
- Smithalicious 6y agoDon't get me wrong, I think what he's doing is very valuable! My issue with it is that I always come away from his videos feeling like someone just told me a fun fact, not that I've really understood it and learned something I could use in the future. The animations are good at illustrating what he's saying but do not give me confidence in his statements being correct beyond my blind faith in him as a person.
