What amenable future? I guess a thousand years from now?

  Certainly not that far ahead. Widespread green energy and space travel is probably 200-300 years away. Even then, on a human timeline a thousand years is nothing. We still have buildings that are 3x as old.

    What is „green energy and space travel“? Some sort of greenwashing spin on rocketry, one of the most energy intensive ways to travel?
