For news story about a photograph, I can't imagine why the subject isn't included?
EDIT: The Daily Mail has the journalistic integrity to include it :) https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8823925/Facebook-blocked-advertisement-onions-Canadian-seed-company-overtly-sexual.html https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8823925/Facebook-bl...
- Wowfunhappy 6y agoIt's in the original article too, just not as the top image. Scroll down a bit. :) Edit: Oh, but it's a Facebook social media embed! You may have something blocking it.
- function_seven 6y agoI thought that, but I disabled my uBlock Origin and still didn't see anything. Now I'm wondering if I have a hosts file block. Or maybe I enabled the ‘Facebook: Bad’ setting in Firefox? Anyway, thanks for clarifying. I think news reports should never rely on outside servers for their own content. It should be hosted by BBC, just the same as their text.
- astura 6y agoIt's an embedded facebook post, if you have any facebook domains on your block list you won't see it.
- nickff 6y agoBBC might be worried about copyright issues of they duplicate and self-host Facebook content without a license. I am not sure if this is the case, but I would expect media publishers to be especially guarded when it comes to copyright.
- neurostimulant 6y agoOn my case using firefox, with enhanced tracking protection turned on, the fb embed that contains the image won't load.
- function_seven 6y agoThanks. I have the same settings, so that must be it.

- kwhitefoot 6y ago> The Daily Mail has the journalistic integrity Now that's a phrase I never expected to read!
- function_seven 6y agoAnd I've never done a double entendre with just formatting! Is it italicized because it's the title of a periodical? Or because I'm incredulous? Yes.
