This is kind of off topic... but if something were to happen and you were unable to work for a medical reason (disability), you would be able to claim Medicare at any age, correct? [I am a US citizen and also have the ability to google this, but just wanted to ask another human being...]

Yes, I think so, but after a 2 year waiting period. You don't have that wait for Social Security disability benefits though.
