> This is not criticism, but I'm wondering why there are so many people developing their own alternative product. Recent privacy laws introduced requirements which Google Analytics can't meet out of the box - at the very least there's is lots of uncertainty. Website owners like to avoid having to annoy their users with consent banners. Of course it's hard to get a definitive answer but it seems using Google Analytics without a consent banner doesn't comply with local regulation in Germany and/or Europe.
