- rurban 6y agoNot just musicians and lyrics were influential, also music journalists were the strongest Mugabe critics, which led to his downfall. They had much bigger impact than political journalists, probably it was easier to critizise politics through softer topics. Most journalists were tortured, jailed, murdered or exiled.
