- archgoon 15y agoPush all hacker news comments into it, their dates, users, and scores. See if the system can determine when a given comment was made.
- berntb 15y agoHow about recommendations for reading, given someone's interests? Both for articles and comments. That is probably a startup in itself, for web discussion boards in general. (The startup would probably follow the present trend of giving it away and selling eyeballs to advertisers; this system would lend itself to analysing interests of the customers, too...)
- franze 15y agowhat about votes, headline, domain, submitter, time and build a tool that predicts how many votes certain hacker news submissions will get. (think a winner would be a "node.js apple" post on codinghorror, submitted by john gruber)
- StavrosK 15y agoI've made something like this as a side project, http://www.pythiafilter.com/ http://www.pythiafilter.com/. You paste a comment and it tries to guess whether it will be upvoted or downvoted. The longer the comment the better, obviously.
