Aluminum seems like a great material for containers. It's easily melted and reused and you can coat the inside with a thin polymer to hold corrosive liquids like Coke.
Any reason we don't use aluminum containers outside the beverage industry?
- Liquix 6y agoshort answer: aluminum is cheap, but plastic is cheaper.
- MattGaiser 6y agoAny aluminum containers resealable? That's a huge issue with a lot of products.
- whoopdedo 6y agoI believe that some beer vendors have dabbled in can/bottle hybrids that are metal but with a screw-on cap.
- ireflect 6y agoThese are known as crowlers (can growlers) and are meant to replace the 1L and 1.89L glass growlers that have gone out of fashion somewhat over the last couple years. Crowlers look like oversized beverage cans, and come with either a pull tab (like a normal beverage can) or a resealable metal cap. Note that all beverage cans have a plastic liner (epoxy usually).
